Katie is the author of four books about craft and design: Interviews (self published, 2011); Makers of East London (Hoxton Mini Press, 2015); Urban Potters: Makers in the City (Ludion, 2017); and Weavers: Contemporary Makers on the Loom (Ludion, 2018). All have been well reviewed and reprinted. She is currently working on a fifth book, due out in September 2020. Alongside the four books Katie has written on craft and design, she has also authored the forewords to Residents: Inside the Iconic Barbican Estate by photographer Anton Rodriguez and The Value of Making by textiles artist Emily Jo Gibbs. Having self-published her first book, and launched, edited and published four issues of the acclaimed independent magazine Fiera, Katie is perfectly placed to work with craft and design clients, offering anything from editorial consultancy to full production services to create editorial ‘brand books’. Katie works closely with location photographer Bruce Hemming to source, photograph and place houses with editors, before interviewing the homeowners and writing the features. Katie and Bruce have produced house features for Ideal Home, House and Gardens and the Observer Magazine among others.
